WAEC RELEASES 2016 EXAMINATION RESULTS


 
The 2016 May/June result of the West African Senior school certificates Exam (WASSCE) has been published on Friday, August 5, 2016.

The examinations body revealed that it withheld the results of 137,295 candidates, representing 8.89% of the number that took the examinations.

This, Olu Adenipekun, the head, Nigeria  office said, was due to exam malpractice.
“The instances are being investigated and reviews of the investigations may be presented to the correct committee of the Council  for attention,” he stated.

The tests body stated that of the 1, 552, 758 college students who sat for the May/June assessments, 878,040 applicants, representing 52.97%, obtained credit in 5 (five) subjects and above, along with English Language and mathematics.

“A total of one,014,573 applicants, representing70 per cent acquired six credit and above, 1,167,484 candidates, representing 75%   obtained 5 credit and above. while 1,282,204 candidates, representing 83.03%,  received credit and above in four subjects,” it stated.

“1,370,049 applicants, representing 88.72% received credit score and above in 3 subjects, 1,438,679 applicants, representing 93.16 per cent obtained credit and above in two subjects,” he stated.

On its Twitter page, WAEC Nigeria announced on Friday night that the malpractice cases are being investigated and reviews of the research might be presented to an appropriate committee of the Council in due course.
