Co-ordinator of WANEP and I, discussed at lenght on the role of women in building peace in the society.
-It was agreed upon that Women should be involved in more advocacy in maintaining peace in Nigeria, especially in the crises prone areas in Nigeria.
Women should persuade their children to stay away from trouble, especially cultism, armed robbery, kidnapping and other vices in the society.
- Women should persuade their husbands to stop certain behaviours that are harmful traditional practises against women, like forbidding their wives from working, not allowing their wives to inherit what is due them in their will
- Women were also told to desist from being used as a tool in the hands of men, to oppress their fellow women who are widows
- In other to maintain peace in the home, women should know the right time to talk to their husbands, to ensure peace in the home
