HOT NEWS FROM NIGERIA




- Blessing Okagbare, on Thursday, led  Nigeria into the finals of the ladies’s 4x100m relay at the continuing Rio Olympic after finishing at 42.55sec. 3 Nigerians made  up of Okagbare, Gloria Asumu, Jennifer Madu and Agnes Osazuwa, got behind Germany that got to the end line at 42.18sec.

- Following the threat of the Niger Delta Avengers that it's going to proclaim the Republic of Biafra on October 1, the Police has warned against the planned secession, pronouncing it is a treasonable offence. Former  President, Goodluck Jonathan has for the second  time, denied allegations in a few quarters that he is sponsoring the Niger Delta Avengers. Jonathan in an announcement with the aid of his spokesman, Mr. Ikechukwu Eze, on Thursday alleged that the allegation is being sponsored via people who have been intimidated with  his soaring profile in Nigeria and overseas.
-Latest report by  the Economist Intelligence Unit has ranked Lagos because the 1/3 worst town to live, retaining its position at the lowest of the worldwide Liveability index. The Centre of Excellence is located 138th out of the a hundred and forty towns ranked inside the sparkling liveability survey.
