RISING CASES OF SUICIDE
In Nigeria today, there are many reported cases of people taking their own lives. Why is the case of suicide on the increase today? This was one of the issues we discussed on Radio, on my show. We did a research on the topic, and discovered the following statistics of suicide cases in Nigeria. But what do you think is the cause of people killing themselves? Experts say depression is the major cause. What do you think? whatever the case, do you think suicide is an option?
On January 1 2013, a family in Ogun state returned from New Year church service, to discover their child, Damilola dead after purportedly killing himself the previous night. He was attending the University of Lagos where he was reading Computer Science and doing extremely well in school. We woke up today, to hear the news of how an old man from Anambra State, South South Nigeria, took his own life and this has become a pattern in the state,
where old men who are tragic and disappointed kill themselves.
"For a long while now, it has been Suicide.. Suicide... Suicide... Tuffiakwa !! This is the thing that plays out in Anambra my dear state..... So much anguish and torments, one imagines what actions is the present administration is taking to reduce the torments of the masses and elderly? What is the structure set up to advance and guarantee quality welfare bundle for the senior citizens? What is the associate between the legislature and the elderly in our country today? Why in this time and age would an old man hang himself because of dissatisfaction and high cost of living? Why would this man wind up along these lines? What turned out badly and why toe this shocking way? Government ought to investigate the situations of the elderly in the state.. This is turning into a standard... Suicide... Suicide.... Suicide
