PUBLIC HOLIDAY EXTENDED

FG  has extended the holidays for Eid-el Fitr festivity till Thursday

Minister of interior, Retired Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau announced this yesterday  5th July 2016.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has included Thursday seventh July, 2016 as Public Holiday for the festival of Eid-el fitr, having proclaimed Tuesday fifth and Wednesday sixth July, 2016 as work free days before now.

The announcement was made on behalf of the Federal Government by the Minister of Interior Abdulrahman Dambazau in an announcement on Tuesday endorsed by the Permanent Secretary of the service, Bassey Okon Akpanyung.

This statement was made  by the order of the President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto,  that the Ramadan be moved  from Tuesday as an after effect of their inability to locate the moon.

The announcement encouraged Nigerians to utilize this time of calm reflections to ensure peaceful co-existence, solidarity and brotherliness, while giving full backing to the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in his supported push to seek after financial and political freedom.
