REVEREND FATHER AND HIS GIRLFRIEND





A Reverend Father with a Catholic church in Anambra State (names withheld), who was supposedly hurt by a cooking gas fire in a girl friend's house at Allen Avenue, Awka, has been,reportedly, flown abroad for treatment.

A source said the cleric was flown abroad to cover the sacrilageous act.

Our source, who spoke without mentioning his name, said the lady in question kicked the bucket in the inferno while the Reverend Father got severely affected by the inferno.

It was discovered that the father was unwinding in a one-room flat of the alleged sweetheart (who was described as an undergraduate of a university in the state) on the  day  the episode happened.

"The young lady kicked the bucket on the spot, and the cleric was hastily carried away and we now hear that they have flown him abroad, evidently to cover the act. Are there no doctor's facilities in Nigeria?

"I have instructed them to quit covering this story. What would they like to accomplish by concealing this story?The truth ought to be told than covering up evil.

Yet, another source, who didn't  want to be named, said, "The cleric was involved in the gas fire while attempting tosave someone else.

Whenever Abuchi, Onwumelu, the Press Secretary to the Bishop of the Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor, was reached on the phone for response, he said he had heard the story about  the gas fire episode that involved a Reverend Father, however had no details of the story.

Onwumelu, who said he was busy when our journalist called him, guaranteed to return to our reporter, yet he never did as at the time of filing in  this report.

So also, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ali Okechukwu, said the matter had not been reported to his office.

He promised to contact the Divisional Police Officer of "B" Division, where the occurrence purportedly happened and return to our reporter, however he never did.
