INEC has issued a certificate of return to PDP candidate, Uche Ogah (left), after a request by the Abuja Federal High Court on Monday June 27th, ordering INEC to quickly issue Certificate of Return to Ogah who came next at the PDP primaries in the state in 2014.
Ogah had dragged the previous state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, in the witness of the court, contending that he exhibited false tax clearance certificates during election primaries. The judge, Justice Okon Abang, said that on the record of fake tax clearance certificates during primaries, Ikpeazu was never qualified to keep running in the PDP primaries as a governorship hopeful. He invalidated Ikpeazu's race and requested INEC to issue a declaration of come back to Ogah.
Ikpeazu has appealed the case.
