The strike called by the Nigeria Labour Congress to protest the removal of fuel subsidy by the Nigerian Government, started today. Situation monitored in Port Harcourt showed that most offices are on, while some school children who went to school were asked to go back home. Some banks are shut down. Some Government offices are offering skeletal services. Meanwhile, the Trade Union Congress has opted out of the strike.
