HOW HAS THE NIGERIAN JUDICIARY FARED IN THE LAST ONE YEAR?
this was the focus of our on air activity. On the 29th of May 2016, the present administration in Nigeria will be a year old. The question is how has the Nigerian Judiciary fared in thr last one year in office? We featured two guests.
One was the former vice chairman of Nigerian Bar Association, Rivers State Chapter, Mr Ojekudo John and a Port Harcourt based legal practitioner, Mr Godwin Odimabo. The guests were of the opinion that the legal system in Nigeria is expensive, and cannot be afforded by the common man. They said the process of obtaining justice is very rigorous. They accused the legal practitioners of helping to delay the process of obtaining justice. They called on the state and federal governments to always obey court orders.
They however praised the state Governor Barrister Nyesom Wike for appointing a Chief Judge in the Rivers State Judiciary and opening the courts that were locked by the previous administration.
