The Federal Ministry of Education and different partners in the tertiary institutions in Nigeria, have consented to peg the charge for the post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination screening at N2,500.
This was contained in an announcement by the Secretary-General, Association of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, Prof. Michael Faborode, on Wednesday in Abuja.
Faborode said the agreement came after a meeting of vice-chancellors of universities, government colleges, polytechnics and schools of training.
"From the announcement made by the Permanent Secretary, Dr Folashade Yemi-Esan, at the meeting, there is no protest to screening by Nigerian Universities, provided it is not another CBT."
"She concurred that the amount to be charged for the screening ought to be N2,500 – bank charges inclusive,"
As indicated by the announcement, the affiliation will formally pass on its position to the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu. Reports from some quarters say that Adamu's late declaration of the prohibition on post-UTME had raised a great deal of dust among partners.
