House of Reps discovered dead
We learnt that the administrator, who was recently seen at on Wednesday was discovered dead at his Abuja home yesterday morning by his driver, who went to convey him to work. The previous Special Adviser on Education in the previous Governor Babatunde Fashola's government was born in 1951.
He went to Ilesha Grammar School where he got his West Africa School Certificate in1968. He continued for his tertiary training at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he graduated after a four year university education in 1979 he also got a Masters Degree Certificate from the Lagos State University in 2005.
Before getting elected as a member of House of Representatives, he was Chairman of Ifako/Ijaiye Local Government from 2004 to 2007. The reason for his passing was not yet known as at press time.
Speaker Yakubu Dogara portrayed his passing as sudden and stunning.
Dogara, in an announcement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Turaki Hassan, included that he was profoundly influenced by the demise of his associate whom he portrayed as a dedicated, conferred and devoted official.
"The late Hon. Elijah passed on when his administrations to the country were generally required.
"We grieve our fallen partner as one who gave his best in support of God and humanity," the announcement read.
In the interim, the House, yesterday, adjourned sitting to Tuesday, September 13 for its yearly excursion.
Executive of the House Committee on Media and Publicity, Abdulrazak Namdas said work would continue at the level of boards of trustees.
"As it is the custom, work will proceed at the board of trustees level amid the break," he said
