CHURCH MEMBER RAPES CHURCH GIRL




The Lagos state Police Command has arrested a 31-year-old man, who was identified as Damilola, for allegedly raping a 25-year-old female on Omole estate, within the Ojodu part of the country.
the victim, Favour (pseudonym) and Damilola were individuals of a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, and the woman had invited the suspect to her party on Tuesday, July 19, 2016
Favour, a  diploma holder and fashion designer, was informed  by the suspect five days after the party that he had a gift for her.
the two of them moved to Damilola’s place on Otubor road on Omole estate.
We learnt that the suspect raped the lady in his room.
We also learnt that Favour mentioned the matter to the Ojodu Police division and Damilola was arrested.
A neighbour, who spoke on circumstance of anonymity, told our correspondent that Damilola had failed to show up at the victim's party and allegedly lured her to his residence one week later.

She stated,

 thus: “Damilola and the lady have been church pals. The woman had her birthday on Tuesday, July 19, and she  invited all youths in the church who have been her buddies. Damilola, however, did not come. He, thereafter,apologised for not coming, and promised to make it up to her.
“On the subsequent Sunday, Damilola told her that he had set up a make-up celebration and that they will be going to an eating place.  He took her to his residence , and locked her up. He beat her up and raped her.
When the lady regained her freedom, she REPORTED the matter at the police station. On Monday, she, with other church members, went to the DSVRT workplace in Alausa to make  necessary statements.
The DSVRT Coordinator, Lola Vivour-Adeniyi, stated the victim was taken for medical tests.
She stated that, “The suspect allegedly gave the victim a couple of slaps and told her t

undress. She  cried and begged him. The girl later gave in and Damilola raped her.
“The DPP has requested the replica case report. The  rape  victim has been taken to the Mirabel Centre, Ikeja, for essential assessments. The suspect has yet to get a complete-time task. He is into amusement enterprise.”
The Lagos State Police Public relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos,  confirmed
the arrest,  and added that the problem has  been
transferred to the police gender unit.
She said, “The case has been transferred to the gender unit of the command for further investigation.”
