NEW IGP APPOINTED

President Muhammadu Buhari has named an Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Kpotun Idris, as the Acting Inspector-General of Police.

This  happened as a result of the retirement of Solomon Arase.

Arase and Idris are at present in a shut entryway meeting with the president at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.

We learnt that the new IGP was an Assistant IGP in the Operations Department at the Police Force Headquarters in Abuja.

Kpotun Idris, who hailed from Niger state, was likewise a Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa and Kano states before his last posting as AIG Operations.
