1. Elder statesman and former Minister of Information, Prof. Jerry Gana has identified the reason behind the under underdevelopment in the country.
According
to him, wrong leaders have taken over the helms of leadership, hence,
the reason for the backwardness of the nation. He made this assertion at
Uzere, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State at the Second
Session of the Sixth Synod of the Oleh Diocese of the Anglican Communion
at the weekend.

Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, has affirmed that President Muhammadu
Buhari was never prepared for the office of the presidency before he
came into power.
Adebanjo,
noted with disappointment that the All Progressives Congress-led
government has not been able to leave up to expectation after one year
in office, adding that Buhari did not do his home work very well before
taking over the mantle of leadership in May last year.

Respected elder statesman and retired Bishop of Anglican Communion, Rt.
Rev. Bolanle Gbonigi has begged the organized labour against embarking
on indefinite strike over the increment of fuel price.
Gbonigi,
believes that what the current administration under the leadership of
President Muhammadu Buhari needed from Nigerians, particularly the
labour unions is support on his policy on removal of fuel subsidy and
not strike that could ground the nation’s economy.

Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar
Malami, has disclosed that the government of the United Kingdom had
agreed to repatriate funds shipped into the country by corrupt
Nigerians.
He said
though there was no estimate of how much of the Nigeria’s funds stashed
in the UK, but “it has been compiled for certainty.”
10. The
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission may have started investigation
into the allegation of diversion of local government funds levelled
against the administration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State.
The
EFCC’s Zonal Head, Ibadan, Akaninyene Ezima in a letter of invitation
sent to the Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State
invited the group to come and clarify some areas in the petition
against the governor.
